Long Version of the results:

As is tradition with the event, Jeff’s long time friend Milo Beasley came out with the sixteen competitors for the pre-show introductions to present them with a ceremonial medallion.

(1) Louis Lyndon defeated "the Megastar" Marion Fontaine.
This is one of two matches where team members faced off (the other being Fantastico vs. Vortekz.) Early on both men traded armdrags but it appeared Fontaine was caught off guard and slid to a neutral corner. Fontaine got a hammerlock only to be countered eventually taken down a flying head scissor and dropkick which sent him to the floor. Lyndon followed with a plancha but Fontaine moved sending Lyndon to the floor. Fontaine tossed Lyndon back in the ring and the Booty Time began. Lyndon tried to use his martial arts skills but Fontaine grounded him with a body scissor for two. The action briefly went to the floor where Fontaine tried to knock out Lyndon and demanded a countout from the referee. Lyndon beat the count and nearly lost by submission to a rear chinlock. Lyndon fought to his feet and used his martial arts skills to cut Fontaine and his ego down to size. Lyndon went for a move but got hit with a superkick for two. Fontaine went up top and hit a Frog Splash for two. Lyndon tried to keep Fontaine away, kicking Fontaine to the floor and followed with a between ropes tope’. Lyndon’s suplex back in the ring was countered and then countered again. Both men traded punches and kicks but it was Lyndon who won with a lariat like move.

(2) Johnny Gargano defeated Chris Jones.

Jones had the proverbial home field advantage it was obvious Gargano was bothered by it. Gargano tried a test of strength to silence the crowd but Jones got control of it only to be countered. Gargano countered with a punch to the jaw while Jones countered with armdrag takeover an elbow drop onto Gargano’s elbow joint. Gargano countered out with a dropkick and several shots to Jones’ head. Jones fought back with several moves ending with Gargano on the floor and Jones going after him only to see Gargano counter twice and catching Jones with a dropkick to the chest. Gargano kept on the upper body with chest chops and kicks to the ribs. Gargano got two following a gutbuster like move and followed with a clothesline and two sentons for two. Jones tried to recover but got dumped to the floor where Gargano followed and he dropped Jones on the apron face first. After taunting the fans Gargano beat the referee’s count. Gargano went up top but missed his splash. Jones got to his feet first and went on the attack with several hard shots but Gargano fought back only to be hit with a tornado DDT for two. Jones went to end the match with a top rope move but Gargano blocked it and hit a modified neckbreaker and top rope splash for two. Jones tried to fight back as Gargano laid in kicks to the body and he went up top with Jones who fought off a hold and came off with a huricurana like move for two. Jones missed a spinning body press and Gargano quickly rolled him up using the tights for leverage.

(3) Silas Young defeated Hybrid Heavyweight champion "the New Deal" Dave Cole

Early on both men tried controlling the tempo but ended up back at square one. Cole smacked Young and ran for his life around the ring only to be back in the ring getting slapped and clotheslined to the mat. Cole stopped any momentum Young built up by hitting an inverted suplex dropping Young’s mid section on the top rope. Cole went to work on the injured area with submission holds. Young fought back with body shots only to be hit with a belly to belly release toss. Cole kept the heat on Young with an elbow to the chest for two and followed with a backbreaker which he held for a submission attempt. Young fought out hitting a jawbreaker and several turnbuckle shots only to be hit with a kick to the gut. Young fought off a Tornado DDT dumping Cole to the mat. Both men fought to their feet and it was Young who was the aggressor with chest chops and a backbreaker into a clothesline for two. Young went for a bodyblock but was hit with a dropkick to the chest which got Cole a two count. Cole went for a move only to be countered but he countered back into a Liger Driver style move for two. Cole went up top and dragged Young up with him for a double underhook but Young countered with a backdrop and followed with a bodyblock for two. Cole locked Young in a STF style submission but Young fought out and hit a kick to Cole’s face. Young hit a rolling Samoan Drop and followed with a spinning bodyblock for the hard fought win.

(4) Jon Moxley defeated FIP Heritage champion Brad Attitude.
For no reason whatsoever Moxley attacked a member of the FIP ringside security and then went after the camera crew. Attitude waited in the ring not sure how to handle this and eventually he slapped the taste out of Moxley’s mouth. Moxley seemed to settle down and began wrestling with shoulder blocks but Attitude took him down with several armdrags into an armbar. Moxley fought back with chops and forearms which knocked the wind out of Attitude for a moment. Attitude fought back with a cross body block for two but his shoulder block missed Moxley and hit the ringpost. Moxley followed to the floor where he kept on the shoulder with kicks. Back in the ring Moxley tried to dislocate the shoulder socket with a stretch and knee drops. Attitude fought back with a clothesline to the floor and the match nearly became a brawl with both men using the ring post and barricades as weapons. Attitude took over with a tope’ to the floor which nearly knocked Moxley out. Back in the ring Attitude went up top but Moxley made him crotch on the top. Moxley kept working on the injured shoulder with a overhand wristlock but didn’t get the tap out. Moxley tried for a test of strength style pin but Attitude fought to his feet but Moxley got in a cheap kick only to be leveled with a dropkick. With only his right arm to use Attitude fought off Moxley as best he could with a neckbreaker and senton for two. Moxley fought back with a lariat but got only two as he took too long going for the pin. Moxley laid Attitude in the ring and went up top but his elbow drop only met ring apron. Attitude got two with a move but Moxley went back to the arm with an armbar and locked in the Crossface Chicken Wing submission to advance.

(5) Bumz R' Us (Milo Beasley/Ray Beez/Milo Bearsley) won the Pro Wrestling Riot Tag Team championship rumble. All this came about after Shawn Osborne’s retirement, Pro Wrestling Riot officials declared the tag team titles vacant. The other Tag Team Rumble Participants included:

FIP Tag Team Champions the British Lions (Christopher Gray/Tommy Taylor), Dark City Fight Club (Kory Chavis/Jon Davis w/Leva), Heartbreak Express ("Superstar" Sean/"Fabulous" Phil Davis w/Amy Vitale), The Shane Twins (Mike & Todd), 2 Fast 2 Furious (Nooie Lee/Jerrelle Clark),The Loggers (Mighty Dagon/Lumberjack Manley), The James Boys (Luke & Rich) Kahagas & The Blackheart, Tony Kozina & Kyle O'Reilly.

During the match the DCFC tossed the Bumz to the floor but they tossed them under the ropes not over the top. The Shane’s and the DCFC were considered eliminated when they fought to the locker room. The Loggers, HBX and British Lions were remaining and the Bumz remained on the floor. The Lions got rid of the Loggers and the HBX/Lions celebrated, well Tommy Taylor didn’t as he still despises the Express. They asked Chris Gray to eliminate himself as Taylor protested. Sean Davis berated Taylor into letting Gray go slapping him in the face. When Taylor fired a slap back he fell back into Gray on the apron. This caused Gray to be eliminated. As the Express partied in the ring, Bumz R’ Us snuck back in and tossed the Express out to win. As the celebration went on, referees had to keep the Lions from fighting each other.

(6) Shane Hollister defeated Flip Kendrick.

Hollister tried to intimidate Kendrick with some slaps to the face but Kendrick countered an armbar into one of his own only to be countered back. Kendrick hit a Lucha style armdrag which sent Hollister to the floor to rethink things. He came back into the ring and kicked Kendrick square in the gut and followed with forearms which were returned in kind. Kendrick hit a springboard huricurana followed by a dropkick to the face which got him two. Kendrick went up but Hollister cut him off and dropkicked Kendrick to the floor. Hollister followed to the floor and was met with a chop but Hollister hit what looked like a STO into the ring apron. The match came back to the ring where Hollister kept the punishement going with a modified abdominal stretch but couldn’t get the submission. Kendrick fought back as Hollister kept the fight coming to him, hitting a standing reverse 450 splash. Kendrick hit a pedigree style move but got two. Kendrick got too close and Hollister hit a jawbreaker and countered a flip by Flip with a running boot to the face. Both men were off their feet and it looked close to a double countout when they got to their vertical base when Kendrick dumped Hollister to the floor and Kendrick followed with a spinning corkscrew press. Both men struggled back to the ring but Kendrick tossed Hollister in and hit a suplex into a knee to the neck for two. Hollister went up top but Kendrick got his knees up into the Frog Splash. Kendrick decided to go up top but his corkscrew press got only two. Kendrick got close to victory but it was a spinning kick from Hollister that got the victory.

(7) TJ Perkins defeated AAW Heritage champion "the Anarchist" Arik Cannon.

Perkins wanted a handshake and he got one then he got attacked from behind by Cannon. Cannon tried to keep up with the speed of Perkins and it worked for a bit as he fought to slow down Perkins with body shots. Perkins’ chest began to welt up from the body shots as he fired in a leg lariat to Cannon. Perkins hit a huricurana which sent Cannon to the floor and when Perkins went to follow, Cannon was waiting with an attack but his chest chop met the ring post. The fight went back to the ring where Perkins hit a top rope bodyblock for two. Perkins went to work on the injured hand with and kept the right hand occupied in a stretch. Cannon backed Perkins to a corner where there was no clean break but an elbow to the face. Perkins fought back with another head shot but a running dropkick to the corner missed and Perkins got stuck in the second rope. Cannon hit a dropkick to Perkins and a standing suplex followed after. Cannon kept hitting body shots and the welt rose even more on Perkins’ body. Cannon hit an enziguri for two and the frustration began to rise in "the Anarchist." Cannon locked in a mat based body stretch but Perkins refused to tap out. Instead he fought out of the hold hitting Cannon with a boot to the face only to be power bombed into the corner and Cannon followed with another power move for two. Cannon’s suplex was countered by Perkins into one of his own and it left both men trying to get their breath. Cannon was hit with several high impact moves in and out of the ring by Perkins which led to him hitting Cannon with hangman’s neckbreaker for what looked to be three but the referee saw Cannon’s foot on the ropes and ordered the match to continue. Cannon’s Burning Hammer led to a lariat for two. Cannon went for another lariat but Perkins avoided it and locked in a Cloverleaf like submission for the tap out victory.

(8) Egotistico Fantastico defeated Scotty Vortekz.

This was the other intra-promotional match of the opening round and both men decided to show the fans what CZW was about. It appeared CZW is about high flying action because both men went to end the match in the opening minutes. Vortekz went for a suicide dive but got kicked in the head by Ego. Ego tossed Vortekz into the ring barrier so hard that Vortekz cleared it and landed in the audience. Ego went for his ring cape and with it attached he hit a leaping elbow drop into the prone Vortekz who was left sitting in a folding chair. They fought back to the ring with chest chops and punches to the head. Ego got two as Vortekz tried to figure a way to slow down Ego. It happened when he countered a Burrito move with a Japanese armdrag and a body shot for two. Vortekz laid in the chest chops to Ego making it echo through the building. Vortekz showed he could high fly with flips and flying kicks to Ego’s body. Ego fought back using his head literally but he got locked in a headlock. Ego fought out only to be hit with a dropkick for two. Ego fired in some kicks to the head and chest which got him two. Ego hit a discus punch which sent Vortekz to the floor and he followed him out to deliver more chest chops. Both men were nearly counted out but beat the count as Ego wanted to end the match via pinfall. Both men fought for position countering each other’s finishing holds and it was Ego who got decked by two kicks to the back from Vortekz. Vortekz went for a move but got caught in Ego’s Taco Pizza submission into pin combo but somehow Vortekz kicked out of the pin. Ego dropped Vortekz on the top rope and followed up for a move but Vortekz countered out with a headbutt which sent Ego to the floor. Vortekz came off with a full flip which leveled Ego. Both men again were dangerously close to countout losses but they beat the count and fought on trading forearms to the jaw. Ego hit a slam and went up but got slapped in the head by Vortekz who came off with Ego in a spinning slam for two. Vortekz got to his feet and he delivered several forearms to the jaw but he went to the ropes instead of the pin and it cost him as Ego hit a modified Cop Killer to win and advance. After the match both men shook hands and received a standing ovation.

(9) FIP World Heavyweight champion Davey Richards defeated CZW World Heavyweight champion Drake Younger.

In the opening ceremony these two men traded verbal insults and they traded stares during the introductions. The hard hitting style of both men came out at the bell as they traded mirror moves only to be standing in the center of the ring at square one. Richards took Younger to the mat only to be countered into a waistlock. Richards countered out into a standing position and actually backed away from Younger letting him get to his feet. Richards went after the left arm while Younger went after the left leg with both men ending up in the ropes. Richards delivered a kick to the back which was returned by Younger who then traded forearm shots that sent Richards to the floor. Richards seemed to have a plan and it slowed Younger down to a crawl. Richards went on the attack but got caught in several armdrags which left him on the mat with Younger holding the left arm. Richards backed Younger to a corner and didn’t give a clean break. Richards ripped at Younger’s face as the referee threatened the DQ. Younger dumped Richards to the floor and followed with a rolling tope’. Younger kept Richards on the defensive with chest chops but Richards fought back. In the ring Younger hit a standing suplex for one. Younger hit a slam and went up but came down jamming his knee on impact. Richards went right to work on the injured left knee with an Indian Deathlock like hold but Younger refused to quit, instead he created a rope break. Richards let the hold go but not the attack on the knees. Richards went for a running clothesline and ran into Younger’s boot. Richards hit a kick to the gut and Younger struggled for breath. Younger got it back but Richards locked in another leg submission but again Younger got to the ropes. Richards dropped Younger on the top corner but got headbutted off and Younger followed him only to miss the Frog Splash and Richards locked in a Cloverleaf but again Younger got to the ropes. Richards was clearly pissed off and this allowed Younger to get his wind and fire back at Richards with punches and kicks and a full nelson suplex for two. Younger kept on the attack with a Burning Hammer like move but he got two. Both men went to end the match as Younger went for a suplex but Richards countered into a Dragon Screw. Richards went up top hitting a missile dropkick and some devastating kicks to the chest of Younger but Richards couldn’t put him away. Younger countered a waistlock and Richards went to the floor where he kicked Younger in the head stopping a suicide dive. Richards went for the kill in the ring with several head shots but got two. He called for the DR Driver but Younger countered into a corner with chest chops. Again both men went up the ropes and got crazy with dueling headbutts. Richards got control and brought them off in a superplex but he couldn’t go for the pin. Both men hit clotheslines, kicks and forearms to the face. Younger got a pin attempt but Richards fought out once more. Younger got to his feet first and Richards got caught with a super Michinoku Driver for two!! Somehow Richards kicked out and countered a Cop Killer. Richards kicked Younger in the arm and hit the DR Driver but Younger kicked out!! Richards frustration reached the roof and he locked in a Cloverleaf which despite his best effort Younger could not escape. After the match Richards took the house mic and was going to address the fans and Younger but instead he handed Younger the CZW belt. Younger declared Richards a true world champion.

Plus the group's founder "Superstar" Sean Davis will also be competiting in a Texas Bullrope match with Florida wrestling legend "Outlaw" Ron Bass. Alan Wojcik sat down with the brash competitor to talk about HBE Inc. , his clients, Ron Bass and a little trip to Panama.

"Superstar" Sean Davis
Height: 5 Ft 11 In
Weight: 320 Lbs
Hometown: Every Woman's Dreams
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.heartbreakexpress.com or www.myspace.com/superstarsean
Pro Debut: February 1997
Where you have seen him: AWA, Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Riot, Pro Wrestling Fusion, Ring of Honor, UXW, SCW Florida, NWA Florida (defunct), Divison 1 Pro Wrestling, Vintage Wrestling, I Believe in Wrestling, CHIKARA, IWA-Puerto Rico, Revolution Xtreme Wrestling (Panama), USCW, New Breed Pro Wrestling
Championships held: AWA World Tag Team champion, New Breed Pro Wrestling Tag Team champion, UXW Tag Team champion, SCW Florida Tag Team champion, 2x FIP World Tag Team champion, Caribbean Island Tag Team champion, USCW Tag Team champion, D1PW Tag Team champion, World 1 Southern Tag Team champion (all w/"Fabulous" Phil Davis as the Heartbreak Express)

Alan Wojcik: It's been a while since I have been able to get interview time with you so thanks for taking time out of your super busy schedule.

Sean Davis: Well it's all your pleasure Alan. I want to first of all congratulate you on finding a woman willing to reproduce with you. I have had the pleasure of laying my seed across many a nation and it is a fulfilling experience that I am glad even a mutant such as yourself has been able to experience.

Alan Wojcik: I expected stuff like this but I shall remain professional. One of the things that has kept you busy is Heartbreak Enterprises which you and your brother Phil operate. Let's begin with what led you to set HBE up?

Sean Davis: For most of the past decade Phil and myself have traveled all over this and many other countries destroying countless numbers of tag teams proving to ourselves and anyone that matters that we are THE standard bearers of tag team wrestling in the world today. Now I am not saying that our days as a tag team are anywhere near coming to an end but I believe in diversifying and planning for the future as we all know that no one can wrestle forever at the level we have competed. As your athletic abilities begin to decline with age you either have to step down to lower levels of competition and begin to be happy wrestling in flea markets and used car lots again as when you first break into wrestling or you have to find other ways to stay on the very top of the wrestling business and that is what I have begun to do as a I have started to spread my enormous talent into other areas. First I have become one of the leading broadcast journalists in all of wrestling. In the role of color commentator I have used my advanced intelect to provide never before imagined insight into the sport of professional wrestling for top promotions such as Pro Wrestling RIOT and even FIP. I have heard from countless fans and experts that the level of entertainment has been increased greatly any time I have been allowed behind the microphone as that Lenny Leonard character while passable at what he does can't ever give that extra insight that only someone with my years of in ring experience could give. The other path I have started on is by taking my 13 years of in ring wrestling knowledge and passing that on to some of the best up and coming talents in all of wrestling as their business manager, coach and all around leader which is the role I fill so well as the CEO of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. We have quickly become the most powerful and influential force in the South's top wrestling promotion FIP. The entire promotion literally revolves around ME....and Phil of course and all of our wonderful stars who allow me to teach them and dictate what they do in the ring which is what has made us so damn successful. I am truly the KING of FIP. Hmmmm, maybe I should start wearing a crown to ringside.

Alan Wojcik: One of your clients is a former Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup competitor, let's talk about "Addicted to Love" Rhett Titus.

Sean Davis: Ahhhh, my tasty treat Rhett Titus. He has been SUCH a pleasure to have around in so many ways. First of all this kid has so much talent it is hard to imagine him not becoming one of the top ten stars ever in the wrestling business. I am SO proud of him and all he has accomplished for ME. Wow, he must really appreciate me as I led him to being the greatest Florida Heritage Champion of all time. I used my knowledge to control him like I was playing a video game as he did everything I told him to do so that he could bring that gold belt back to my mansion where it was so prominitely displayed in my trophy case. Of course Rhett has been handsomely rewarded for how well he has done for me. You see Rhett has an ENORMOUS.......appetite for the finer things in life so I have spared no expense when it comes to giving him all of the luxuries that only I could provide him. The finest wines, the most expensive restaurants and the sexiest and most willing women you have ever seen. When he told me he was in the mood for something a little aged but with lots of great experience in the bedroom I brought to him a very special gift in the legendary Baby Doll. Let's just say she worked him out in ways Rhett never thought were possible until he eventually had no more use for her so we sent her packing back to North Carolina. Just think Tully Blanchard, Gino Hernandez and Ric Flair all in their primes couldn't last with Baby Doll but my boy Rhett literally took her to the limit. Since then I replaced her with the world famous actress and model Amy Vitale who is currently giving all she has for the cause of keeping Rhett a happy boy.

Alan Wojcik: At an event earlier this year a $25,000 bounty you had placed on then FIP World champion Tyler Black was claimed, by current HBE and 2009 JPC competitor Davey Richards. Was this something that was planned all along or were you in shock when Richards came out to ringside?

Sean Davis: I guess you haven't really been listening to what I have been saying and that is that NOTHING happens in FIP and especially when it comes to Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. that I am not in full control of. Bottom line Tyler Black was a huge thorn in my side and I had to do something serious to eliminate him so I enlisted the most dangerous man in wrestling today, the one and only Davey Richards. To not only take out Tyler Black for good but to be the center piece of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. He truly did his job in a magnifcent way earning every cent of that $25,000 bounty and earning his place as the pride and joy of my most prestegious organization.

Alan Wojcik: HBE has had a relationship of sorts with the newly crowned FIP World Tag Team champions the British Lions (Christopher Grey & Tommy Taylor). What is the current status of the relationship and what do you think of the duo?

Sean Davis: Relationship??? The British Lions are signed members of Heartbreak Enterprises, INC. You see Christopher Grey is not just one of the most talented men in the sport but also one of the smartest. He knew that if they signed a contract with me that is would only be a short matter of time before they would eb the FIP World Tag Team Champions and alas the inevitable has come to pass! As for Tommy Taylor...well he is tough and rugged and...well...thank God for him he has such an intelligent tag team partner that can make all of the right decisions for him. All he has to do is what Chris and I tell him to do which I know he is happy with as thinking is not his strong point.

Alan Wojcik: On May 2nd Mr. Richards was awarded the FIP World Heavyweight championship due to injuries to Tyler Black inflicted by your group over several months and the same evening he defeated Kenny King. You claimed it was always his championship and when I asked Mr. Richards about it he called me a racist. Shouldn't he have defeated Black in the ring like all championship decisions?

Sean Davis: Kenny King called you a racist?? Well that doesn't surprise me I mean as he did vote for Obama and has been known to hang out with the Rev Sharpton type of crowd. As for Davey Richards winning the FIP title. As far as I'm concerned he won that belt when he put Tyler Black out of wrestling at the Battle of the Belts event and obviously the FIP Board of Directors felt the same way. Then just to prove that he is a true fighting champion he beat up poor Kenny King in the middle of the ring, fair and square to show everyone in FIP that he is the undisputed FIP World Heavyweight Champion.

Alan Wojcik: Sad to say but on October 3rd Rhett lost the FIP Heritage championship to 2009 Peterson Cup competitor Brad Attitude. During that evening Florida wrestling legend "Outlaw" Ron Bass figured in that decision. Let's break this down into a couple of questions. First your feelings on Rhett losing the championship.

Sean Davis: Rhett Titus was RIPPED OFF!!! As far as I'm concerned he is still the Florida Heritage Champion and Brad Attitude is nothing but a pretender, a false hero and a complete wannabe!!! He would have never been able to get out of Crystal River with Rhett's title belt without help from that twisted old man "Outlaw" Ron Bass!! I mean his name says it all..he's a damn outlaw and he's proud of that!!! Ron Bass didn't like that fact that I pointed out that fact that he is a HAS BEEN and he was wasting my precious time by running on at the mouth about the "good ole days" back in the 1940's and 50's when he was a big star in wrestling. No one cares about him. They only care about what's happening now and that's Heartbreak Enterprises, INC.

Alan Wojcik: Next we need to address "Outlaw" Ron Bass who factored into the match. After things settled you and the HBE laid him and Attitude out. Somewhere in this fracas he challenged you to a match....did you have any clue on November 21st you would be part of Texas Bullrope Match!?!??!

Sean Davis: It is very clear to me that this old dude obviously has some sort of dementia and he was having flashbacks to when he was feuding with the Dirty Yellow Dog. I mean he had NO idea what he was doing when he challenged ME to not just a normal wrestling match but to a Bullrope Match on November 21 in Crystal River at the Peterson Cup 2009. Bottom line is I must be at least fifty years younger than this guy. He might have been tough back in the day and I am sure that if a game of Bingo on Friday night gets out of control that you might have to watch out for him hitting you with his walker but this is 2009 and I am one of the toughest guys in the sport. Hey I am the guy who made matches like Cage of Pain 1 and 2 famous so do you really think I am worried about this old man?? I hear he is taking this real serious and he is driving his lark to the gym every day and is really working up a sweat getting ready for this match and I think that's kind of cute to be honest. I am ALMOST gonna feel bad when I bust his old head open with that rusty metal cow bell and I make him bleed all over the Crystal River Armory. Then as he takes his last breath in the middle of the ring he won't be saying his "I Love You's" to family members but will be saying "You were right Sean Davis...I should have bowed at your feet and proclaimed you the King of FIP like I know you are...it is my honor to now die at your feet knowing I was beat by a much better man". HEHEHEHEHE that is gonna be so much fun!!!!

Alan Wojcik: Seemingly every high profile match I watched online with you and Phil saw you bleeding. Do you ever have your family and friends say, "Sean you need to stop doing this before it kills you?"

Sean Davis: Alan you would know nothing about being an athlete and a warrior like Phil and I are. Blood, Sweat and Tears baby!!! That's just part of being a professional wrestler. We're not covered head to toe in thick pads like football players and hockey players are. We don't have our matches stopped due to a little cut like in boxing or MMA. Pro Wrestling is a sport for REAL men which is why YOU would never survive!

Alan Wojcik: I couldn't end this without bringing up a 2008 trip you, Phil & protege' Nick Fame made to Panama where you were almost arrested for stomping on the Panamian flag. Do you regret the incident and were you ever afraid for your personal safety?

Sean Davis: HELL YEAH we were afraid! Of course when you have an entire country wanting to kill you and the president of the country gets on national television promising your punishment it is a little frightening but that's just part of being who we are. When you are in The Heartbreak Express you learn to live with a little fear at all times as you know there are so many people around the world that are jealous over our success in wrestling, in finance and with their wives and girlfriends. I mean do you know how many little kids are running around the world right now dressing in pink and purple and telling their friends "You're Just Jealous" all the while these suckers that think they are the dads are wonderng how their kids ended up with Platinum Blonde Hair..HAH!! I guess that's just gonna stay a secret between The HBX and their women!!!

2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: Louis Lyndon Nov. 16th, 2009 @ 09:59 am
In May 2003 IPW Hardcore promoters created the JEFF PETERSON MEMORIAL CUP in tribute to the fallen cruiserweight star who passed in 2001 after a long battle with cancer. Since then the event has garnered a list of international stars who supported the event and honored Jeff's memory by putting on five star caliber bouts. The previous winners were "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter, Justice, Chris Sabin, Milano Collection AT, Chris Hero & Erick Stevens. On November 20-21 sixteen men will come to Brooksville & Crystal River, Florida to try and join those names. Could this year's winner be:

Louis Lyndon
Height: 5 Ft 11 In
Weight: 175 Lbs
Hometown: East Lansing, Michigan
Pro Debut: 2007
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.myspace.com/louiskendrick
Where you have seen him: Hybrid Pro, Dragon's Gate USA, Insanity Pro, Price of Glory Wrestling, Firestorm Wrestling, AIW, AAW, Rapid Pro Wrestling, Pure Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling Experience, Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling, JAPW, NWA Indiana, GALLI Lucha Libre, Mr. Chainsaw Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling of Michigan.

Alan Wojcik: What were your initial thoughts on being named to Team Hybrid for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Louis Lyndon: Excitement! I was quite surprised. The fact that there is a Team Hybrid for the Peterson Cup in itself was very surprising when I first heard. Never thought a couple years ago that Hybrid promotion would make it this far. The chance to represent the Hybrid promotion in Florida is chance of a lifetime.

Alan Wojcik: Doing research showed you work as both Louis Lyndon and Bryan Lyndon. Is this true and why the two different names?

Louis Lyndon: I started off as Brian/Bryan Lyndon basically for a couple promotions including Hybrid and AIW. After furthering my training at Price of Glory Wrestling in MI, my trainer, Josh Raymond, decided I should do something different and use my real first name. I started taking on that name in December 2007. I use Louis Lyndon everywhere minus Hybrid to this day.

Alan Wojcik: On your Myspace you have a photo of someone named Clive Myers. Who is he and what does he mean to you?

Louis Lyndon: Clive Myers! He was a 70's-80's British wrestler from the World of Sport era, during the times of your Johnny Saints, Steve Greys, and Mark Roccos. He was a kung-fu influenced wrestler like myself. I watch and study his wrestling all the time. He definitely inspires me when I go out and wrestle every single match.

Alan Wojcik: Before asking you about a specific match in the promotion, you're representing Hybrid Pro Wrestling. Tell us something about the promotion that makes it different than other Midwest based promotions.

Louis Lyndon: Hybrid Wrestling is a unique animal, at least compared to many other Midwest promotions. It is very athletic based company, always pushing limits of the human body. From the wrestlers to fans hitting metal sheets on guardrails it has a little different feel. It kinda goes away from old school wrestling of 80's and kinda embraces the high impact style, high flying style of Michinoku Pro or Dragon Gate I would say.

Alan Wojcik: On December 16, 2008 you wrestled in what is talked about in wrestling as a five star ladder match against Marion Fontaine,Dave Cole & Christian Faith. Talk about the match and its place in Hybrid's history.

Louis Lyndon: This match was really painful. I got beat up like I had never had been before or even sense. The match itself introduced a unique idea where each person had their own colored ladder and thus was only be able to retrieve the title by climbing that ladder. This lead to people trying to break other people's ladders in the match. My ladder actually was broken and I had to put my ladder on top of another person's ladder near the end of the match. Kinda worked for a second, heh. Even though I lost, it was an honor to have a change to be the first Hybrid Champion and also to be apart of the company's biggest match to date.

Alan Wojcik: Like Chris Jones, Johnny Gargano, Arik Cannon & Flip Kendrick you have worked for Dragons Gate USA and competed in their FRAY match. Talk about working for the promotion and for people at the JPC who will see FRAY!, explain the concept of the match.

Louis Lyndon: FRAY! is one of craziest match ideas. It basically involves 8 men with two competitors started off. Every 3 minutes someone new enters randomly. The standard match rules apply with no countouts with the final survivor winning. You can't prepare properly for a match like this. I myself had very little if any luck in the two I competed in. Working DGUSA was like a dream. I never thought I would get a chance to work for company like it. It was one of the greatest experiences of my wrestling career. Hopefully, down the road I will have another chance to work for them.

Alan Wojcik: If things go your way you might be coming to Florida the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavywight champion. Hybrid Pro teammates Flip Kendrick & Marion Fontaine are also in the tournament (Louis faces Billy Roc in round one, www.insanityprowrestling.com). Scout out them & Dave Cole for fans who have never seen them.

Louis Lyndon: I am really planning on it. I have been in dojo double-time preparing for the tournament. Yes, Flip and Fontaine are both in the tournament as well. Flip, my brother, is always a tough competitor in few times we have fought each other. You have no idea where his flips are going to come from. He has come along over way over the last year. Fontaine and I have had few matches with him getting the better 2 out of 3. You kinda underestimate Fontaine when you see him at first glance. You quickly, find out he is one crafty wrestler out there. Dave Cole is one of toughest guys I have ever fought. He is all around wrestler. Doesn't seem to have a weakness.

Alan Wojcik: Of the other fifteen competitors is there someone you are looking forward to possibly facing and someone you consider a possible roadblock to the trophy?

Louis Lyndon: Everyone is a roadblock. Any single person in this tournament could win it. I know nothing will be easy. I am just going to bring my 70's Kung Fu and give it everything I got!

Flip Kendrick

Height: 5Ft 8 In

Weight:170 Lbs

Hometown: Mt .Clemens, Michigan, Resdies: Lansing, Michigan

Website/Myspace/Facebook/Youtube: www.myspace.com/dkendrick, http://www.youtube.com/user/flipkendrick

Pro Debut: 2006
Tournament history: HYBRID Title Tournament (Lost in the second round of Blonde Bracket)

Where you have seen him: Hybrid Wrestling, Dragons Gate USA, JAPW, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Insanity Pro Wrestling, Championship Wrestling Experience, HWA Wrestling, Mega Championship Wrestling, Cleveland All Pro Wrestling, Rapid Pro Wrestling, Epic Wrestling, Price of Glory Wrestling, Mr. Chainsaw, MCWA Wrestling, AAW Wrestling, Galli Lucha Libre, WASP Wrestling, Far North Wrestling, and IWA East Coast.
Championships held: JAPW Light Heavyweight champion.

Alan Wojcik: What were your initial thoughts when your were announced as part of Team Hybird for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup and what did you know of the event's history?

Flip Kendrick: It's hard to believe that HYBRID has made it this far as a company. Who would have thought that in 2006 (it's debut) that it would be regarded as a rising company and would be included in a tournament with the such well know wrestling promotions as CZW, AAW and FIP. I was proud to find out that out of all the HYBRID wrestlers that I would be chosen to represent HYBRID. As far the events histroy, I'm going to be honest I've heard of the tournament before and I understood that FIP ran it. But I've never actually seen any tournament matches from previous tournaments.

Alan Wojcik: How does a Michigan St grad with a major in telecommunications, media & info studies end up becoming a professional wrestler? Why MSU and not Michigan (JPC supporter Ron Niemi is a mega-huge Michigan supporter) was is their degree programs or were you always a Spartan supporter?

Flip Kendrick: Not sure how I became a professional wrestler. I think it was just a natural progression. At least while I was school it was just a cool hobby to tell people about. At that time, I was wrestling at 2 promotions maybe once a month or once every other month due to school. So nothing serious at all. When I graduated December 2008 and I was contacted about JAPW for the BOTLH, my career basically took off. Started doing more shows and working on basics. But yeah if you have ever seen my YouTube page I have a lot music videos that I edited, and I believe that my Teaser video and best of video (Death of Me) have contributed to the attention I've been getting. I basically chose MSU because my brother Louis had already been attending and it's a lot easier to get in. If I were to choose some school related to my degree I wouldn't have chosen either.

Alan Wojcik: On your Myspace page there are videos of you doing some amazing gymnastic moves. How long has gymnastics been in your life and how much does it influence your wrestling style, is there a Lucha influence as well?

Flip Kendrick: I did gymnastics for 4 years in high school. Basically self trained from there. Picked up martial arts tricking (which is martial arts with gymnastics influence) and met a couple people involved in that. My wrestling style is very acrobatic. I'd say my flipping background is a direct correlation to my wrestling style since flipping came first in my life. I find that lucha libre is the best style to incorporate my gymnastics and tricking.

Alan Wojcik: You were part of a FRAY! match on the 2nd Dragons Gate event. Tell the fans what that match is like and how did you come to work for this fast rising promotion?

Flip Kendrick: The match was quite an experience, very nerve wrecking. After my injury, I had about 2 matches before this match so I was definitely not at 100%. I don't want to go into too many details but I was contacted about doing the first Fray and wasn't able to make it so they were able to fit me into the second one.

Alan Wojcik: On an recent CWE event you and Louis Lyndon teamed to face Sexual Harassment and also faced him in IPW. Talk about him as a partner and opponent.

Flip Kendrick: Ahh, Louis Lyndon, we have a lot a history since we are brothers. He basically pushed me to get involved in wrestling. But as far a being a tag partner, it is very fitting since our styles are both almost identical minus my flips. As an opponent he is a tough competitor.

Alan Wojcik: If things go your way you might be coming to Florida the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavywight champion. Hybrid Pro teammate Marion Fontaine is also in the tournament (www.insanityprowrestling.com). Scout out him & Dave Cole for fans who have never seen them.

Flip Kendrick: I could become the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavyweight champion, that would be quite an accomplishment. Marion Fontaine and Dave Cole are both very talented. I've known them both for a quite a few years now and know what they are both capable of. Although they may not work for a lot of promotions they will definitely impress the fans JPC 2009.

Alan Wojcik: Checking out the IWA East Coast site sees you listed being part of a 2009 Zero-G Crown Scaffold match taking on Shimma Xion, Michael Facade & Zac Vincent. What are you thinking about when you hear the name of that match?

Flip Kendrick: When I think of this match I think insanity and injuries.

Alan Wojcik: Looking over the other 15 competitors do you see anyone as a road block from you winning the tournament and why?

Flip Kendrick: Basically everyone is a road block, seeing as how I'm probably the guy with the least matches and experience under my belt.

"Street Dog" Jon Moxley

Height: 6 Ft 3 In

Weight: 225 Lbs

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

Pro Debut: June 2004

Website/Myspace/Facebook:

Tournament history: HWA's 2009 Attack of the Trios (w/Dean Jablonski & Dick Rick), 2009 CZW Tournament of Death (lost in 2nd round)

Where you have seen him: Combat Zone Wrestling (member of Switchblade Conspiracy w/ Sami Callilhan), Heartland Wrestling Association, IWA Puerto Rico, Insanity Pro Wrestling, CHIKARA, WAR, Northern Wrestling Federation

Championships held: Current HWA Tag Team champion (w/"King Vu" Richard Phillips), HWA Tag Team (w/Jimmy Turner), 2x HWA Heavyweight champion, IWA-PR Tag Team (w/Hade Vansen), IPW Mid-American, IPW World Heavyweight.

Alan Wojcik: What was your initial reaction to being named part of Team CZW for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Jon Moxley: I was pretty stoked. Fresh, tough competition is always healthy for you, it's something I constantly crave and there's plenty of it in this thing. Actually, stoked isn't the word, I'd say instantly pissed off, in a hungry positive energy kind of way.A lot of guys I'm sure are just glad to be able to say they're in it. I'd say that well over half of the guys in the tournament have already blown their load telling all their buddies and chicks at the bar how they're invited to this prestigious tournament, so all those guys are satisfied to just be there and as good as beaten mentally. That's another thing I love about these types of events, it's gonna be the kinda thing where everyone is behaving like it's a tennis tournament or something, shaking hands and sportsmanship and posing for pictures and telling each other how good they are and the like. That kind of stuff irritates me. It's like...isn't anybody pissed off? Wheres the aggression? Why are we all friends? Where's the yelling and screaming? Doesn't anybody just wanna *%#@ somebody up? Personally, I'm not interested in doing tricks for the audience and trying to impress anyone with fancy b.s....I just wanna come in and wreck everything.

Alan Wojcik: You were trained by Cody Hawk, talk about the training and working for Heartland Wrestling Association.

Jon Moxley: When I was 16 I went to the HWA school for the first time, this was when Les Thatcher still owned and ran things. I went into his office and he more or less told me to get out. He told me I couldn't train till I was 18. I was pretty pissed so I just kept coming up and hanging around, being a nusance. I started working security and setting up the ring and when he wasn't around I was able to get in the ring and work out with guys. Cody eventually took over the company and let me start training full time and I can't say enough about how great it was, I'm extremely grateful for being taught and brought up the way I was, especially now looking back. It was hard, no joke, 3 or 4 days a week for 3 hours at a time, endless conditioning, endless drills. There was lsot of people training there at the time, so you'd get to learn from being in the ring with a variety of good wrestlers. I had nothing else positive in my life at the time, so I couldn't get enough of it. In over a year I never missed a practice. Once I started wrestling I got to wrestle matches twice a week on top of training, and the talent level at HWA was unbelievable, Nigel McGuinness (currently Desmond Wolfe in TNA), Matt Stryker, Chad Collyer, Irish Airborne, BJ whitmer etc...so the experience I got at such a young age was invaluable. Cody Hawk is a guy who never really was a star or a world champion or anything like that, but he was an incredible worker, and a great teacher, he doesn't get nearly enough credit for all the talent he trained. That school was probably the last of it's kind.

Alan Wojcik: IWA Puerto Rico came up on the background information. Is it as unique a promotion as I have read about?

Jon Moxley: Yeah it could get pretty nuts. Puerto Ricans are the most violent, raucous fans you could ever see, I'm sure it's not as bad now as it was in like the 70's, but there were some shows where the crowd would be so heated that it is indescribable. Talking WHITE heat. Puerto Ricans have a complex about being the stepchild of the U.S., they're completely dependant on the U.S. but they don't like to admit it, so it's easy for them to hate brash Americans. I'd constantly have ice, batteries, cups, and pennies thrown at me, they would try to pour cups of urine on you as you came out of the tunnel. It was defiinitely a trial by fire. To me though, that is beautiful. I totally loved it.I would give anything for that kind of stuff in the U.S.

Alan Wojcik: You have worked a few time for Ring of Honor in dark matches. Talk about the ROH experience and how do their fans differ from the regulars who attend Combat Zone Wrestling matches?

Jon Moxley: I've always performed really well and had a great time in the little bit of stuff I've done for ROH, but still it's like I've just kind of always flown under their radar. I have fun wrestling for ROH crowds but in my opinion, ROH at the (former ECW) Arena pales in comparison to the atmosphere of CZW at the Arena, the intensity hangs in the air much thicker. CZW's regular audience is generally drunk angry Philly types and they are way more cutthroat then the more educated ROH audience. ROH is stacked with talent, they always have great matches, and I'm dying to get into the ring with alot of those guys, but in my opinion for what it's worth ROH just seems to be lacking something. I don't know if it's because they're on TV now or what. CZW to me is a more exciting, edgier product all around. ROH seems to have lost their balls.

Alan Wojcik: You hold a victory over CZW teammate Drake Younger actually winning the finals of the "Drake Younger Invitiational." Talk about that event and scout him for fans who have never seen him wrestle.

Jon Moxley: Me and Drake are kind of like the Terry Funk and Dusty Rhodes of Indy wrestling. We're constantly just beating the %#* out of each other across the country. We are born to be rivals. I'm sure I'll be attacking him in airports when were in our 60's. There are alot of parallels between us, we've traveled similar paths to where we are today, and our styles match up in the ring exactly. If we wrestled 100 matches, he'd win 50 and I'd win 50. That particular night was just another night that could have gone either way but swung in my favor. We push each other more than any other opponents, because It's not so much about "who's better?, It's about "who's gonna get better faster"? So we have to both be constantly improving to keep up with each other. I think he will impress alot of people at the JPC, especially those that see him as "just a hardcore wrestler". Drake Younger is much more than that. He's a hybrid wrestler. I expect him to open up alot of eyes.

Alan Wojcik: In CZW you have formed alliance with Sami Callilhan called the Switchblade Conspiracy. Tell us how this happened and how does he compare to other tag team partners you have won gold with?

Jon Moxley: I knew Sami from years earlier when he came to train at HWA. He kind of hooked himself to me back then and adapted alot of my style and traits, later there was a long period of time when I was out of commision and he went out on his own, took what he learned and adapted it to his own style and personality. When I came back and we eventually found ourselves in the same place, It was a natural fit, we have similar goals, and were cut from the same mold. As a tag team, we complement each other perfectly. For the most part we wrestle in the same relentless, vicious way, but were different enough that it's hard to prepare for both of us. I'd say me and sami are as good together as any tag team in the world. In fact I am saying that.

Alan Wojcik: Your tournament history includes the annual CZW Tournament of Death. You won a "Dining Room Deathmatch" over Brain Damage but lost to Nick Gage in a "Fans Bring Weapons" match where Scotty Vortekz also lost. How does one mentally and physically prepare for that event and what the hell is a "Dining Room Deathmatch??"

Jon Moxley: Forks and plates and tables, ....don't ask me man deathmatch wrestling is weird. I honestly wouldn't have ever thought I'd find myself competing in something like Tournament of Death, but I found that it fit me like a glove. There really is no mental preparation for something like that, all the guys pacing, and doing breathing exercises and praying or meditating, they're kidding themselves. I think either you get off on the fact that you're taking a big risk and are going to be in alot of danger or you dont. For me it was easy, no mental preparation at all. I'm ready to go 24/7. I love adrenaline. I like senseless violence. I drive fast, I sort of like to get hit, I wanna live every second of life to the fullest, and there's no more feeling alive than having to dodge sharp weapons and get somebody before they get you. Fight or Flight.

Alan Wojcik: Of the 15 other competitors in the event do you have one you would like to face and is there a potential roadblock in your mind?

Jon Moxley: I want Davey Richards. End of story.

Johnny Gargano: I was excited as soon as I found out man, it's something I've been looking forward too! I don't know too much about the past history of the event. I know a bit though, don't get me wrong. I know this is one of the most prestigious tournaments around, with an amazing resume as far as past winners and participants go. So it's really cool to be apart of it. But don't get me wrong, I plan on adding my name to that prestigious club of winners. I hope I get a gold jacket, that'd be pretty boss.

Alan Wojcik: Who trained you for westling and who were some of your favorite wrestlers before you got into the sport?

Johnny Gargano: I was trained by JT Lightning and more noteably Josh Prohibition had a big hand in my development as an overall wrestler. Favorite wrestlers, that's an easy one Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels hands down. I think a snippet of their persona's come out in mine, just a tad. Alas I'm just a sexy boy. When I was real young, I used to dress as HBK and dance around the house. Little did I know, I was basically acting like and idolizing a male stripper. No wonder I turned out the way I did =/

Alan Wojcik: Pro Wrestling Ohio's profile of you lists you being billed as "the Unique One." Was this something you came up with or did someone at a show crown you with that monicker?

Johnny Gargano: Um, it's just something someone came up with. I mean, I always try to be different. That was a big thing I wanted to aim for when I got into Pro Wrestling. Be as different, be as unique as possible. I want to make sure when people leave any event they see me at, that only one name remains on there mind as they're walking to there car and that's Johnny Gargano! and maybe Dave Batista, but he should always be on there mind. He's big AND his name is Dave. Lethal combo.

Alan Wojcik: Former ECW/TNA star Jerry Lynn's name came up as a frequent opponent of yours. Talk about working with him and has he influenced your career in any way?

Johnny Gargano: Jerry was a big influence! He's probably, actually no, he's without a shadow of a doubt, the best vet to have in ANY lockerroom. The man's done it all and been everywhere. With that in mind, he'll still take the time to help out any young wrestler, even when he really doesn't have too. He's a class act in every sense of the word, and it was my honor to be in the ring with him so many times and learn so much from him.

Alan Wojcik: Looking over several promotional sites its seems you have a love/hate thing going with Josh Prohibition, even being his final opponent at PWO Wrestleution 2 this past August.

Johnny Gargano: Ha, yea. Me and Josh had quite the history. I'll go out on a limb and say that the match I had with Josh at Wrestlelution 2, with that atmosphere and the way everything turned out, may in fact be one of the best of my career. It definitely ranks up there as one of my favorites. Even though I could barely walk for a couple days after the match. Eh, tomatoes, tomatos ya know?

Alan Wojcik: After doing some searching online I found a site called www.wrestleohio.com which lists close to 30 promotions operating in Ohio. Having worked for some of them which is your favorite and are there any you would never work for?

Johnny Gargano: My favorite without a shadow of a doubt would have to be Pro Wrestling Ohio, with Hybrid and CWE up there on that list as well. It's tough man, they're so many feds up in Ohio. Wrestling really gets oversaturated up here. There's only so many times you can see the same people and the same matches ya know?

Alan Wojcik: You got noteriety on September 17th defeating the recent WWE signee "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. At the event before the match you could have won the Intense championship a third time in a match with Facade & Sonjay Dutt . Did you look too far ahead and what are your memories of the match with Danielson?

Johnny Gargano: I'm not here to make excuses or anything...but YES! That's EXACTLY what happened! I blame the schedule! Going into the match with Bryan Danielson, I knew it'd be one of the absolute toughest tests of my career. I knew going into that match that it'd be one of Bryan's last independent matches. So that alone was a huge honor for me. Being in the ring with a guy like that, who has revolutionized and really been the face of Indy wrestling the way he has for so long, you can't help but learn and be better for it afterward. I feel like I truly am today for it.

Alan Wojcik: On the October 23rd CWE card you were scheduled to take on international star Kushida Yujiro of HUSTLE, thoughts on your opponent.

Johnny Gargano: Unfortunately, that match DID NOT happen. Kushida couldn't make it unfortunately, but I still had a pretty good match that night with a young guy by the name of Bobby Beverly. He's not Japanese and he has funny looking tattoos, but I dug it! I also believe I had some form of the flu during that match, but I don't think it was swine...I'm more of a kermit guy myself.

Alan Wojcik: You are a representative of AAW in the Peterson Cup. Talk about the promotion and your fellow competitors Arik Cannon, Silas Young & Shane Hollister.

Johnny Gargano: AAW is one of the best promotions as far as talent goes in the midwest I feel. Cannon, Young and Hollister are some of the best AAW has to offer as well. Even though that Shane Hollister cheated to beat me in my AAW debut....Theirs no hard feelings...I won't turn on him or anything...I promise ;)

Alan Wojcik: You won the most recent FRAY! match on a Dragons Gate USA event. Since there will be a FRAY! match on night two of the weekend, tell the fans about it and also talk about working for the newest American-based promotion.

Johnny Gargano: Man, I just have one thing to say to all of those guys...You're in way over your head, over your heaaaad! Bad joke. But really, FRAY!'s a different type of animal man...It's unlike any match I've ever been in before. I entered in at number 3 in the first FRAY! and came up a tad bit short....BUT! BUT! I entered at a later number in the most recent one, and using my cunning tactics and amazing intelligence, I was able to soundly win that bad boy! That means I'm the current FRAY! Heavyweight Champion of the Galaxy! Yep, that's right, Galaxy. It's more than the World, I think... But In all seriousness, Dragon Gate USA is the future of Professional Wrestling in the US. It has everything you'd ever want in a wrestling promotion...Action, Excitement, Drama, COOL MOVEZZ!! When they say it's OUR wrestling haven it's not just a fancy catchphrase...it's the dead on truth. And it's been really my honor and priviledge to be apart of this company from the ground up.

» 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: "the New Deal" Dave Cole

"the New Deal" Dave Cole
Height: 6 Ft 2 In
Weight: 200 Lbs
Hometown: Shelton, CT
Pro Debut: January, 2004
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.myspace.com/davecolelovesyou or
Where you have seen him: Hybrid Pro, ECWA, CZW, NECW, Jersey All-Pro, Millenium Wrestling Federation, Connecticut Wrestling Experience, Beyond Wrestling, PWF, CCW, Defiant Pro Wrestling
Championships held: Current Hybrid champion, NECW Tag Team champion, Defiant Pro Tag Team champion, PWF Tag Team champion, CCW Tag Team champion, MWF Tag Team champion (all w/J-Busta)

Alan Wojcik: What was your initial reaction to being named to Team Hybrid and competing in the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Dave Cole: Dream come true. Since I first got involved with the world of independent wrestling, the Peterson Cup has been a tournament that has spotlighted some of the best up and coming athletes. I'm going to go out there prove that I'm just that. It's a great honor to be chosen to compete with the other participants and to be given a shot to show what I can do.

Alan Wojcik: What led you to become a wrestler and how did you end up working for Jeff's uncle Jim Kettner and ECWA?

Dave Cole: Wrestling has been in my blood since I was young. I grew up idolizing the likes of "Macho Man" and Jake "the Snake" Roberts and continued to grow up and admire the skills of Bret Hart and Chris Benoit. Along with guys that went out there and busted their asses to put on the best show they could. I felt the need to do the same and began my training. Shortly after my training began, a fellow trainer (J-Busta) was working for ECWA doing singles work and busted his knee. This allowed me to come in as his tag partner and we were known as "The Canadian Superstars". Jim Kettner and the ECWA is really where I first began to understand wrestling and how it works and I will be forever in debt to Jim, ECWA and guys like Matt Striker who taught me the basics of how to work.

Alan Wojcik: You were part of a successful tag team with J-Busta called the Canadian Superstars. What was it like becoming a Canadian, did you score their universal health care?

Dave Cole: I really can't say enough about J-Busta and The Canadian Superstars. Basically for the first 4 years of my wrestling career was involved with Busta and it really let me build a character and travel to some great places. I gained so much knowledge of the wrestling world through Busta and getting to go places like NECW, CZW, and then HYBRID. In HYBRID we developed an amazing feud with Faith in Nothing and I really think that feud solidified my name as a top player in HYBRID and really pushed me to where I am now as HYBRID Champion.

Alan Wojcik: According to your Myspace page you've attended seminars hosted by Mike Quackenbush and "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (Dave defended the Hybrid championship against Daniels at Project Mayhem 5/09/09). Talk about training with those two superstars.

Dave Cole: Training with these two was a blessing. I still to this day use things that both of these men taught me. I recently got a chance to work with Christopher Daniels for the HYBRID championship and I learned so much from that one match. Quackenbush taught me the importance of submission wrestling and many lucha holds and locks I still use. Training with great stars like Mike and Daniels really slaps you in the face and makes you realize how much you can learn in this business.

Alan Wojcik: On December 16, 2008 you wrestled in what is talked about in wrestling as a five star ladder match against Marion Fontaine, Louis Lyndon & Christian Faith. Talk about the match and its place in Hybrid's history.

Dave Cole: This match meant so much to all 4 men in it and to HYBRID wrestling in general. Crowning the first champion. A multi-month tournament to qualify the 4 best in HYBRID. A ladder match that has NEVER been done before, it was all just so EPIC. We all went out there not only for the belt, but to show what HYBRID was about. I think we marked out spot on the map and for me winning that match has brought me places I have worked hard to get to, the perfect example being this year's JPC. I love all 3 men in that match and would love to do it again someday.

Alan Wojcik: On December 5th you will defend the Hybrid championship against fellow Team Hybrid member Marion Fontaine. Think he might take a chance to do some damage to you here in Florida to get the title in his hands?

Dave Cole: I'm not worried about Fontaine. He likes to think that he can get into my head and play mind games with me until the 5th, but it just can't happen. I'm the HYBRID Champion for a reason. December 5th in Fremont, Ohio will prove the world why I have been champion for almost a year straight now and why I will continue my reign for as long as my body lets me.

Alan Wojcik: Looking over the other 15 competitors including your fellow Hybrid team mates, who do you see as a road block to the trophy and why?

Dave Cole: Everyone. Everyone picked to be in this tournament was picked due to their ability to go out and perform at their best and their ability to give the fans what they want. Each participant has their own strengths and weaknesses and I'm VERY much looking forward to what each individual can bring to this tournament. I think HYBRID is the most unknown of the group of 16, so I think that we four have something to prove to the world and to everyone in the tournament.

"the Megastar" Marion Fontaine
Height: 6Ft 1 In
Weight: 170 Lbs.
Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada (Myspace lists Lorain, Ohio)
Pro Debut: January, 2005
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.myspace.com/megastarmarion
Tournament history: Winner 2008 Hybrid Pro Pink Bracelet tournament, 2007 American Luchacore "Luchacup" (lost in 1st round to Josh "Abercrombie" Raymond
Where you have seen him: Hybrid Pro, Mega Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Ohio, Absolute Intense Wrestling, CWE (member of Bromance)
Championships held: 2x MCW Light-Heavyweight champion, MCW US Heavyweight champion

Alan Wojcik: What was your initial reaction to being named to Team Hybrid and the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Marion Fontaine: Grateful, because its honor to be apart of this tournament with so many other outstanding names on the scene. I remember reading results of previous tournaments was I was younger, like The Jeff Peterson Cup, Best of the Best, and The Super 8 so it's a very surreal moment, to be involved and participate.

Alan Wojcik: For fans like me who have never been to a Hybrid Pro show, tell us about the promotion.

Marion Fontaine: First and foremost, the best place to start is passion. The lockeroom is very passionate about putting on an excellent show, the fans are really passionate as well as supportive, which is sometimes refreshing at this level. So with that much emotion involved, you're mostly likely going to walk away with the intentions of coming back. Nothing is holding you back there, so a lot of guys really showcase their athleticism and talent. Expect hoopla, mass hysteria, misogynists, baddest of the bad boys and the color purple.

Alan Wojcik: Some people would say you have an interesting persona. Where did Marion Fontaine come from and how do you friends/family react to him?

Marion Fontaine: I always hear that the best characters are simply extensions of yourself and that's very true in the case of Marion Fontaine, he's me set to 11. A very vocal, full of himself, groove-lovin, sweet set of eyes. My family's come to terms with him. haha. I still do some ridiculous things that'll make my parents shake their heads, but they know this is something I enjoy doing. My close friends and I have been hooked on wrestling for a long time, so they're all for Fontaine.

Alan Wojcik: Your Myspace page shows an interesting array of photographs apparently taken by you. When did you get into the hobby and when did it transition into something more?

Marion Fontaine: Music is another passion of mine and while I can't play it, I use my creativity to stay close to the scene. One of those outlets is photography, which is one media I studied in college. While in school photography continued to gain my interest and that only grew after I graduated, so I put my skills to use. Now I work with bands on photography, video, web, design, etc.

Alan Wojcik: According to your bio on Pro Wrestling Ohio's website (www.pwowrestling.com) you are usually seconded by Macho Grosh. Who is this individual and will he/she be following you to Florida?

Marion Fontaine: Well Macho Grosh is an interesting story. Some say he's a lost soul who ate one too many Slim Jim's. But regardless, he was a companion of mine that I'll always have fond memories of. As mysterious as his entrance, so was his exit. So there are chances he's in Florida right now, working his glutes and pecks in preparation.

Alan Wojcik: You also have a group the website calls "the Freaks" and labeled you the "Friend of the Friendless." What do you consider freaky enough to be part of your unit?

Marion Fontaine: Well to date the freaks have included a beautiful on the outside, terror inside the ring woman, a South African savage, an unstable Samoan, a lonely lover looking for love. So if there's anyone that comes close to anything as freaky as that, there's an application process we'll have you fill out.

Alan Wojcik: If things go your way you might be coming to Florida the Insanity Pro Jr. Heavywight champion. Hybrid Pro teammate Flip Kendrick is also in the tournament (www.insanityprowrestling.com). Scout out him & Dave Cole (whom you face on December 5th for the Heavyweight championship) for fans who have never seen them.

Marion Fontaine: Those are my intentions. Get that IPW Jr. Heavyweight Belt and bring to Florida, I'd be a fool not to believe that. Not only is Flip Kendrick in the tournament, but Louis Lyndon as well. Now I've wrestled both men multiple times, but it's always hard to scout for the high flying arsenal of Flip, and the kung-fu action of Louis. But I've bested each of them before and the same thing will happen if I face either man. Regardless of the state. Dave Cole's another story. Never been in the ring with him one-on-one but he's a technician in the wrestling ring. Precise and effective, yet explosive and a risk taker when its necessary. But I've been watching him with a close eye, and waiting to take something from him that I should have had in the first place. The Hybrid Championship.

Alan Wojcik: In Championship Wrestling Experience you, Nicky Valentino & Shawn Blaze exist as Bromance. Tell the fans how this unit came to be and how do they compare other tag team partners in your career like Team Pink Mustache's Pinkie Sanchez?

Marion Fontaine: I'm assuming you want a PG rated version? Well Shawn Blaze and I have been teaming for a few years and found Nicky who we wanted to mold and show him what it means to be a real man's man. While it seems lately Nicky and Shawn have taken the reigns of Bromance, I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle and directing team Bromance across a sea of success. Well Pinkie and I have yet to team together. We were scheduled to, but it wasn't in the cards that night, hopefully in the future cause it would make for some interesting tag matches. As far as comparisons go, Shawn Blaze and I have had the most success, but be on the look out for Dino Marx, baby.

Alan Wojcik: Is there anyone in the tournament you've been wanting to face in your career and is there someone you see as a potential roadblock?

Marion Fontaine: I've been in the ring with only 4 members of the tournament, so really any other participants would be an interesting matchup for me. I'm not familiar with everyone, but I know they're all greatly qualified to be in this tournament. Sure there may be some roadblocks, but I ain't sweating it. When your this slick, nobody can touch you.

Shane Hollister

Hometown: Davenport, Iowa
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.myspace.com/shugyhollister
Tournament history: 2009 CHIKARA Young Lions Cup VII (lost in 1st round to Trik Davis)
Where you have seen him: AAW, CHIKARA, WPPF, MCPW, 3XW Wrestling, NWA Iowa, DynastyPro, IWA-Mid South, HWA, Insane Championship Wrestling, AIW, F1RST, NWA No Limits, Luchacore, CZW
Championships held: NWA Iowa champion, AAW Tag Team champion (w/Bryce Benjamin)

Alan Wojcik: What was your reaction to being named part of Team AAW which heads to the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Shane Hollister: I feel very proud to be apart of team AAW. Makes me feel good that I am one of the guys they decided on, AAW is my home so it feel great going to the Peterson Cup.

Alan Wojcik: According to an interview with Missouri Wrestling Revival you grew up a fan of Shawn Michaels. What was it about him that made him your fave and early in your career or today have you modeled yourself after him?

Shane Hollister: Well, I think a lot of guys my age could say at some point Shawn Michaels was their fav wrestler. For me it was the simple fact that when he said he was going to tear the roof off the place he did and still does to this day. Just all around one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. I have never really modeled myself after him, just way too hard of a job, hahaha there is only one Shawn Michaels and there will never be another one so I just try to be me.

Alan Wojcik: In the tournament you are representing AAW. Talk about the promotion and the other three men making the trip to Florida with you; Arik Cannon, Silas Young and Johnny Gargano.

Shane Hollister: Like I said AAW is my home and I love wrestling for them, We have some of the greatest wrestling Fans around and we have one of the greatest locker rooms around. Guys like Silas Young, Tyler Black, Jimmy Jacobs, All of H.O.T, Arik Cannon and Johnny Gargano....just to name a few. I think very highly of Silas Young, Arik Cannon and Johnny Gargano they are all great in different ways.

Alan Wojcik: On occasion you work for a group called Mr. Chainsaw Productions Wrestling. If possible please describe one of their events as their website (www.mcpwrestling.com) might not do it the proper wording.

Shane Hollister: Mr. Chainsaw was the first place outside of Iowa I got my first feud which was with Christian Abel Which made me grow as a performer. So I have nothing but good things to say about them for that reason.

Alan Wojcik: Also on occasion you have worked for Ring of Honor. Might we someday soon see you as a full-time roster member?

Shane Hollister: Ring Of Honor is a great place to grow and continue to get better in this business and I hope very much one day to be a full time member of their roster.

Alan Wojcik: A search for promotions on Smart Mark Video showed you being part of the sadly defunct IWA-Mid South outift. Talk about working for them and what you feel led to it being shut down.

Shane Hollister: I really enjoyed working for IWA Mid-South Ian (Rotten) gave me a great spot to learn from in this business with what matches he gave me, I learned quite a bit from IWA. I really don't know what lead to the down fall, It kinda came out of no where to me.

Alan Wojcik: You have been part of three successful tag teams. If possible talk about teaming with Bryce Benjamin, Marek Brave (iBoy) and also Trik Davis (duo called Call To Arms)

Shane Hollister: Marek and I were both trained by the same guy and lived in the same city so it was a lot of fun being his partner. When I started teaming with Bryce it was kinda just thrown together and we worked very well together and had some success as a tag team becoming AAW Tag champions. The guy I work the best with Trik Davis a master mind of the tag game, the stuff he comes up with is simply amazing.

Alan Wojcik: On a recent AAW event you were part of a tag match with Marek Brave taking on Danny Daniels/Trik Davis where you ended up being hit with a piledriver on the floor. What is your your current health status and could the neck injury possibly keep you out of the event?

Shane Hollister: My neck has been bothering me very much but I am taking the time to heal for the Peterson Cup, so it will not stop me from going.

Alan Wojcik: If you look over the other competitors that have been announced is there someone you see that could be a roadblock keeping you from winning the whole thing?

Shane Hollister: That is hard to say there are a lot of great guys in the Peterson Cup. So that question I would say can't be answered until I see what's in front of me in the ring.

Every two minutes another competitor will join Fray. Eliminations can take place at anytime by pinfall, submission or DQ. There are no count outs. The final survivor is your winner.

Violence promises to be on tap for Night 2!
The fiery rhetoric is starting to heat up between Ron Bass and Sean Davis in advance of their Texas Bullrope Match on night 2 of the JPC. Both men have been trading angry comments back and forth, and when we had the opportunity this week to check on the preparations for each man, that didn’t change at all.

Ron Bass invited us out to his ranch in North Hillsborough county to talk and it didn’t take long to see the veteran tough guy means business. Bass was “back in the saddle” as it was, riding and roping cattle before heading into the barn to throw some heavy weights around and hit the heavy bag. It is clear Bass is taking this very seriously, and that could spell trouble for Sean Davis. “I had heard how Davis stuck is nose into things when I got to FIP, but I didn’t hear how big his mouth was. Well come November 21st I’m gonna do something I don’t think has ever been done before. I’m gonna shit that fat windbag’s mouth…permanently.”

Sean Davis however was content to let his mouth so his working out when we stopped by. “Old man Bass doesn’t stand a chance against me. What is he now, like 80? Well this isn’t 1983, and I’m no Dirty Yellow Dog. November 21st I’m gonna do to you what they did to Old Yeller. I’m gonna take you out back, and put you out of your misery.”

Alan Wojcik: What was your reaction to being selected for the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup and what if anything did you know of the event and Jeff?

Silas Young: When I heard I was selected for the tournament I was pretty excited. It's one of those tournaments people look for every year and It's something I've always wanted to be a part of.

Alan Wojcik: According to an old website you owned (www.freewebs.com/silasyoung/home.html) you were trained for wrestling by Chris Bassett, Mike Mercury & Angel Armoni. What did each man bring to the table to mold you into Silas Young?

Silas Young: With Chris Bassett he showed me the basics like locking up and very basic holds but that's about it. Mike Mercury showed me how to put things together and helped me get a lot of bookings when I first started. Armani and I worked each other probably about 50 to 60 times in the course of a year and half and we really pushed each other and did lots of training together during that time and thats were I really started to develop my style of wrestling.

Alan Wojcik: The same site also lists your influences as Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero, Ricky Steamboat & Rey Misterio Jr. The obvious question is how did these men influence you in your training and career?

Silas Young: Guys like that are all considered some of the best athletes in wrestling. When I was younger I was in gymnastics and that has definitely influenced my style of wrestling and what I was a fan of growing up and I knew I could incorporate it into what I did in the ring.

Alan Wojcik: You held the MAW Tag Team championship with 2004 Peterson Cup non-tournament competitor Zach Gowen. What was it like having him as your partner?

Silas Young: Honestly I really like Zach alot as a person he's a great guy to hang out with and it's funny when hes douchey to people which is one reason he rubbed me the wrong way when I met him the first time, but now it's funny I guess you just have to catch his sense of humor somethimes. And Zach can tear it up in the ring and its always been a good time getting in the ring with Zach.
Alan Wojcik: In December 2007 you signed a developmental deal with World Wrestling Entertainment only to have OVW disappear. What was the WWE experience like including all of the dark matches you have been part of?

Silas Young: Here's the thing with the developmental thing. I got asked to do a Raw taping in Milwaukee and that night I got to work Val Venis who happens to be a guy who was so cool and made that match about me that night and that's something he didn't have to do. We had a good match and there was a lot of people afterwards saying good things about it and I got asked to do ECW and Smackdown the next day in Indianapolis and that day I got asked to work the Miz on the ECW TV show and afterwards Dean Malenko introduced me to Johnny Ace and after talking with them I did a few other extra gigs for them and then I got asked to do a week long evaluation at OVW and that was a great experience getting to workout there and do a week of their house shows and then a month after that I got offered a developmental contract I did all the testing and paper work and called and bugged the shit out of them about when they wanted me to report. And then shortly after that OVW closed and I was told they weren't putting any new contracts through. So I was there for a half a cup of coffee.

Alan Wojcik: Like fellow competitor Davey Richards you are an active member of the ROH roster. How did you come to be part of ROH and what do you think of the promotion's fans who seem to be over analytical.

Silas Young: My wife is friends with Dave Prazak and she actually got booked to be a valet with the YRR and I was asked if I wanted to do a dark match and I think I actually wrestled Davey Richards in that match. Anyways After that I kept expressing my interest in working there and managed to get myself on a lot of the shows and seemed to be booked there pretty consistently. The fans don't bother me, cause honestly there no different than anywere else, people are people you just have to find a way to entertain them.

Alan Wojcik: You have appeared on PPV's and the current ROH TV show (which airs on HDNET Monday's @ 8pm.) Are you enjoying the TV experience, has it garnered you more bookings?

Silas Young: Yes its definitley helped with getting more bookings and its always great to get some tv exposure.

Alan Wojcik: On the 8/8/09 ROH TV you worked former JPC competitor Delirious and on the 8/31/09 ROH TV you took on 2008 JPC winner Erick Stevens. Could you have wrestled two more different wrestlers than those two.

Silas Young: Yeah different is an understatement Delerious is very unorthidox and does very random off the wall stuff while Erick Stevens relies on brute strength. It was also a little different with Stevens because I usually have a size advantage over a lot of guys I wrestle.

Alan Wojcik: In addition to ROH you come to this tournament as a member of the AAW roster recently taking on former FIP World champion Tyler Black on the "Massacre on 26th St" event. Talk about that promotion and what it means to you.

Silas Young: AAW is the best place in the midwest to work hands down. Their roster is solid and they put on great shows with a lot of thought put into them. It's one of my favorite bookings I get every month and its a place that makes you want to kill yourself for the product and the crowd who is always a great hot lively place.

Alan Wojcik: You had a match in AAW with current WWE developmental roster member Bryan Danielson where you lost but slapped the taste out of his mouth. Talk about that match and why you eventually apologized for the slap?

Silas Young: That match was something I looked forward to and actually had inquired about who Bryan was gonna wrestle when he was annouced for the show. Bryan is a guy everyone wants to work with and I felt like it was a great chance to show that I belong in the ring with guys like Bryan all the time and that I can go just as hard as the top guys in the world. As far as the apology sometimes your emotions get out of control and I over reacted in the ring.

Alan Wojcik: Thanks to a YouTube name search , it shows you have some history with fellow competitor Egotistico Fantastico. Of the 12 names announced so far is there someone you see as your biggest obstacle to claiming the trophy?

Silas Young: If there is one guy it would be Davey Richards he's the FIP champion and hes been on fire all year. But at the same time he's been traveling overseas and he's gotta be hurting which is why I'm not to worried about him.

Davey Richards

Height: 5 Ft 8 In

Weight: 202

Hometown: Othello, Washington

Pro Debut: June 2004

Tournament History: 2006 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup (lost to Rod Steel in 1st round), Winner 2006 ECWA Super 8, Winner PWG 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, 2007 NWA/ECCW Pacific Cup (lost in 2nd round), Winner 2009 FIP Eddie Graham Battle of the Belts

Where you have seen him: Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling WAR, APW, UPW, AWA Pinnacle, IWA-MS, WXW (Germany), AWA Washington, Dragons Gate USA, Pro Wrestling NOAH

Championships held: Current FIP World Heavyweight champion, current ROH World Tag Team champion (w/ Eddie Edwards, duo is American Wolves) PWG Tag Team champion (w/Super Dragon twice, Roderick Strong once), ROH World Tag Team champion (w/Rocky Romero) AWA Washington Tag Team champion (w/Tony Kozina)

Alan Wojcik: Having been part of the 2006 event, what does it mean to you to be part of the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Davey Richards: It means I'm gonna spread some buttcheeks and ol big daddy DR is gonna go rotor rooter in someone's colon with his size 9.

Alan Wojcik: You were trained for wrestling by former JPC competitor Tony Kozina. Talk about the training process and working with him during your career as a tag team partner.

Davey Richards: One time Tony went on a date with this chick and she was giving the cold shoulder the whole time, so when he went to drop her off at her house as she's getting out of the car. He tried to belt out a fart to let her know how disappointed he was with the date and shit his trousers. True story.

Alan Wojcik: Besides the Peterson you participated in 2 other tournaments in 2006. First let's talk about the ECWA Super 8 (run by Jeff's uncle Jim Ketner) where you defeated Scott Lost, 2005 JPC winner Milano Collection AT and Charlie Haas.

Davey Richards: Yea, I whipped ass. In truth I needed the money as me and Tony were starting up our promotion, "Sweet Christ Entertainment".

Alan Wojcik: The other tournament you won was the PWG Battle of Los Angeles where you defeated Ronin, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong & CIMA. Talk about that night and being a regular in PWG since 2005, are you surprised by the promotion's success?

Davey Richards: Once again, me whipping ass. I've had the honor of being part of PWG roster for so long. Those guys are like family. I wouldn't be where I am today with out PWG. There success doesn't surprise me one bit as its long overdue IMO.

Alan Wojcik: 2006 also saw you begin to work for Full Impact Pro and Ring of Honor. First how did you come on the radar of each promotion and what were the initial reaction to you by the extremely fickle ROH crowd?

Davey Richards: Gabe Saplosky called me up and wanted me to come in, I wanted to come in, so it all fell together. The ROH fans are ok by me, they've never stolen my car or hit on my wife. But if they did, I'd be whipping some ass and this and that.

Alan Wojcik: During your ROH tenure you have been part of a few factions, namely the No Remorse Corp and Sweet & Sour Inc. Which group do you feel got you the greater career success and without ticking off your other tag partners, try and compare them to your current "American Wolves" partner Eddie Edwards.

Davey Richards: No Remorse Corps was awesome, man I miss Rocky( Romero)! It really broke me out my shell and let me start having fun. Eddie is the flippin man, straight up. Dude is ssssooooooo underrated, legit the toughest guy in ROH. He beats up little kids so right there he's rocking in DR's book. Its my pleasure to tag with him. But yea chicks loved Rocky so that was cool to be around too.

Alan Wojcik: Also during your tenure ROH held several PPV style events and currently has a TV show on HDNET (Mondays @ 8pm). Talk about that experience and do you find yourself getting more bookings from being on TV?

Davey Richards: I don't get any more bookings, I've never even seen the TV show, my TV got stolen, that will be the ultimate ass kicking when I find that guy. I'm gonna kick him right in the tip.

Alan Wojcik: At the Eddie Graham Memorial Battle of the Belts event you defeated Erick Stevens, El Generico & Roderick Strong. I want to talk about that event but also why you brutally attacked then champion Tyler Black taking the championship belt and a $25,000 bounty from Heart Break Enterprises.

Davey Richards: Yea, sometimes I just wake up and go, "Man, I'm so goddamn jacked it's crazy". I mean really, I look at my legs in the mirror and just ponder as to how God created these quads of destruction. Then I went and won the tournament. I attacked Tyler because as a God fearing man I don't take kindly to someone impersonating my Lord and Savoir Jesus H. Christ.

Alan Wojcik: On May 2nd you were awarded the FIP World Heavyweight championship due to injuries to Tyler Black inflicted by you over several months and the same evening you defeated Kenny King. What were your feelings being given the championship instead of winning it or do you feel it was yours all along like Heart Break Enterprises leader "Superstar" Sean Davis proclaimed, what I mean is shouldn't you have defeated Black in the ring?

Davey Richards: That's wrong and all wrong sir, your being wrong about and your being racist. I did beat Tyler, punched his fucking mouth loose in ROH and PWG.

Alan Wojcik: You will be featured on the 11/6 debut PPV event from Dragons Gate USA taking on Shingo. For fans unfamiliar with the product, try and explain the Dragons Gate concept and what made you say yes to working for the promotion?

Davey Richards: Dragon Gate is the evolution of wrestling. What made me say yes is DGUSA has some bad mother f'ers rocking the casbah and ol DR wanted in on the mix.

Alan Wojcik: What does being part of the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup mean to you and were you surprised to be back after being in the 2008 event (Jones defeated Chasyn Rance to qualify)

Chris Jones: Being part of the JPC 2009 is a huge deal to me. As a Florida wrestler, I think everyone wants to be in it. It is a show where a spotlight is cast upon everyone in the tournament and everyone is given the chance to shine. I really wasn't surprised to see myself back in the tournament this year. I had been determined all year to get back into it after last year's loss to Erick Stevens in the first round.

Alan Wojcik: You are a trainee of Soulman Alex G. Your Myspace profile says you trained in his dojo for over a year & a half. Why were you trained for so long and what did you learn from that experience?

Chris Jones: I was kept in the dojo for so long just because I was very young and Soulman wanted to make sure I was ready. I trained in a lil crappy warehouse in the middle of Miami’s Little Haiti district. Not the nicest area, but Soulman say that I was showing up everyday after amateur wrestling practice or after cross country practice and he loved my determination to get good and learn. So he really helped me and wanted me to be ready when I first start working shows. Plus, as I said, when I started with G, I was 14 years old, had braces and weighed 115 lbs, haha.

Alan Wojcik: I believe you are the youngest ever JPC competitor (Chris will turn 19 this fall). What do you think had led to your amazing success at such a young age?

Chris Jones: Mental toughness and swagger. I never let anybody tell me, I can’t do this, or I can’t do that just because I am a teenager. I ain’t hearing any of that man. When I reach for a goal and set my mind to something that I want to do, nobody could stop me. I am climbing that mountain till I get to the top regardless of age, size or whatever else.

Alan Wojcik: In photos found of you, your ring tights have the numbers 87 & 32 on the side. What is the signficance of those numbers and who created the “mixtape” video which has been featured on several sites?

Chris Jones: Haha, you know, I get asked about my tights all the time. I never really give a straight answer, but i’ll let y’all in on the secret. It’s kind of an urban thing, rapper Young Jeezy coined the phrase “87 32 What it do” and it’s basically a shout out for everybody on their grind, everyone who is hustling hard, putting in work to reach the top of the mountain, man. I got it on my tights as just a reminder to myself to keep working hard, stay true to myself and stay on my grizzy. A lot of people are confused by it, but it’s unique and I like it. As for my mixtape I made it. I’ve been trying to push and get as many views as possible. It’s just an introduction to Chris Jones for those who haven’t been able to watch me wrestle, yet. I had limited match selections on my computer, but I liked how it turned out.

Alan Wojcik: Let's talk about what many called one of the best matches in JPC history when you took the eventual winner Erick Stevens to the limit last year.

Chris Jones: I lost, that's all that's important. Erick got the better of me that night and eventually won the whole tournament. Going in nobody even gave me a shot to win, I am pretty sure that night, quite a few people believed I had the match won at a couple points. Erick has a rare combination of speed, and raw power that is difficult to match, and nearly impossible to beat. You really gotta be on your A game to beat him. That match left me wounded and very drained, so much so, that I couldn't compete on the second night of the tournament.

Alan Wojcik: You got to compete on the pre-show for the initial Dragons Gate USA PPV (working agaisnt Louis Lyndon, Up in Smoke, Johnny Gargano & Lince Dorado.) You talked about it in a recent Myspace blog, but I was hoping you could summarize the experience and will we be seeing you in DG USA again soon.

Chris Jones: It was crazy. I had gotten a call during the week seeing if I was interested in going up to Philly for the Dragon Gate USA show. Of course, I was stoked! The experience was awesome, walking into the ECW Arena for the first time, absorbing the atmosphere was a fantastic experience. I didn't feel too out of ease or nervous, really, as a life-long wrestling fan I just had a great time at the show! It was kind of like a wrestling convention with all the merch sellers, and diehard Philadelphia wrestling fans. I got to watch the PPV tapings from the eagle's nest next to my fellow Florida brother, Lenny Leonard and Leonard F Chikarason which was very cool.

Alan Wojcik: As PWF Jr. Heavyweight champion you have defended against former WCW superstar Prince Iaukea. Was this an intimidating or learning experience for you and why?

Chris Jones: Both. I knew coming in that Iaukea had been in the ring with some of the best wrestlers EVER. Malenko, Guerrero, Benoit, Finlay, Regal... He's been there done that. So stepping into the ring with something with that much skill and knowledge is definitely intimidating. At the same time, it's a learning experience because Prince has so much knowledge to give back to the business. He had a great run, one that a lot of people wish that they could of had. He put me through hell and back in Fusion for a couple of months, but after my program with Iaukea, I can certainly say I became a smarter wrestler.

Alan Wojcik: You also have defended against fellow JPC competitor TJ Perkins. Give the fans a scouting report on Perkins.

Chris Jones: Beware of flying armbars, and assorted wacky submissions. TJ is really talented at what he does. It's easy to see, he has been wrestling for a good majority of his life. Some people are sleeping on TJ Perkins heading into this tournament, all I gotta say is, I am glad that he is on Team FIP with me.

Brad Attitude
Height: 6′3″
Weight: 232
Hometown: Boone, NC
Website/Myspace: www.myspace.com/bradattitude
Pro Debut: September, 2002
Tournament history: 2008 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup (lost to Erick Stevens in the finals) FCW Tag Team Tournament
Where have you seen him: Full Impact Pro, WWE, Florida Championship Wrestling (WWE developmental), CWF Mid Atlantic, Heartland Wrestling, NWA Wildside
Championships held: Current FIP Florida Heritage Champion, Two-time FCW Tag Team champion (w/Nic Nemeth), two-time CWF Mid-Atlantic Tag Team champion (w/Brad Rainz)

Alan Wojcik: What does being part of the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup mean to you and were you surprised to invited to be part of the 2009 event?

Brad Attutide: Like I said last year, this tournament means so much to me and I'm always proud to be a part of it. It is one of the premier indy tournaments in the world so you know you are doing something right in your career when you are chosen to be in it.

Alan Wojcik: What made you wake up one day and say I want to become a professional wrestler and describe the training process you went through.

Brad Attitude: I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a pro wrestler when I grew up. My family used to take me to Starrcade’s in the 80’s when they were in Greensboro and me and my dad watched wrestling religiously throughout my childhood so I didn’t know of anything else I could be. When I was done with high school and collegiate athletics, I chose to take a job with CWF Mid Atlantic setting up rings and doing odd jobs. Once a month, I would drive 2 ½ hours from Boone to Burlington to set up the ring before the shows and get trained in the time before the show started. I eventually moved back to Greensboro so the training would be more frequent and after 9 months of it, I had my first match.

Alan Wojcik: You have been a regular in the Mid-Atlantic area with CWF. Talk about that promotion and working in a territory that is legendary thanks to the Crockett’s.

Brad Attitude: Being a professional wrestler from NC is something I’m very proud of. I grew up in the middle of “Flair Country” and was a huge fan of the NWA growing up. The stuff that the Horsemen did with Dusty, Magnum and the Road Warriors was revolutionary for the wrestling business during that time. Fast forward to me getting into the business and creating friendships with the Hardys, Shane, Shannon and the rest of the Omega Crew gives you a sense of pride but also some big shoes to fill knowing that so many from the state have become so successful.

Alan Wojcik: You told me in an email you did some work for Hearland Wrestling on their TV tapings. Do you have any good HWA stories you wish to share?

Brad Attitude: Early in my career, I was befriended by Matt Stryker (with a Y), he was a mainstay in Cincinnati with HWA at that time. So sometimes, I would make the 8 hour Tuesday drive to do TV and then have to leave right after to be back in time for work on Wednesday morning. I have nothing but great memories because I was just learning so much at that time. I do remember that HWA was the first time I ever saw a time cue being given so loudly. Cody Hawk used to have an interesting way of throwing a chair against the dressing room wall if your match was taking a bit too long out there.

Alan Wojcik: You also mentioned doing work with WWE for nearly four years before they signed you to a developmental deal. What was the tryout process like and did you ever think, “why aren’t they signing me I am as good as the other talent here?”

Brad Attitude: I never thought that way because you will drive yourself crazy worrying about that. Even if you are good at one thing, they might be looking for something completely different. It’s about the look, about the work, about the gimmick, but it’s also about timing and sometimes you gotta wait longer than others. I enjoyed my “enhancement” work while I was there and I got to work with some really good wrestlers in front of the biggest TV crowds I’ve ever worked in front of. Plus after a while, I started working every time I went to TV so that’s a boost to your confidence when they trust you that much.

Alan Wojcik: WWE sent you here to Florida Championship Wrestling run by the legendary Steve Keirn and Dr. Tom Pritchard. Talk about a typical day in the training facility if there is one to reference.

Brad Attitude: FCW is a top notch facility in a beautiful city, what isn’t there to love about it. Steve Keirn is a great teacher but an even better friend and mentor. Dr. Tom is the ultimate when it comes to WWE developmental, nobody knows more about training than him. I mean, this man trained the Rock and Kurt Angle in the first developmental class so he knows what he’s talking about. Norman Smiley knows almost every hold in the book and has a ton of international experience. Kidman knows the business inside and out. Then you got Dusty helping with promos and characters, what else can you ask for. FCW truly is the future of the WWE.

Alan Wojcik: Not long after your FCW debut you became a tag team with “the Natural” Nic Nemeth (currently Dolph Ziggler). The two of you were fun to watch every week. Was it fun to be partnered with someone who already had been on WWE TV?

Brad Attitude: It was fun to be partnered with Nic period, it had nothing to do with the fact he was on TV before. As much fun as we were to watch on camera, we were even funnier off of it! In my opinion, a great tag team needs to get along and have that chemistry outside of the ring because it translates over and I think we had that. He is truly one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and now the world is seeing how good he is week in and week out on TV.

Alan Wojcik: Also not long after your debut, WWE shut down Ohio Valley Wrestling and moved the rest of the developmental roster to Florida. Were you worried about it seeing now there was going to be 60-70 people in the training facility?

Brad Attitude: Actually, I wasn’t worried at all but looking back on it maybe I should have been a little more conscious of it. I was a bit naïve in a way because I knew a lot of the OVW crew and I was looking forward to working with them again. It probably put a lot of pressure on the trainers having to look after so much talent but it also created some new feuds and introduced fresh faces for the fans of FCW. I made many lifelong friendships that I will treasure for the rest of my life from Florida Championship Wrestling and I wouldn’t trade any of it!

Alan Wojcik: As I mentioned in the opening question you were part of the 2008 event. I am sure you thought you would advance to the finals. But can you summarize your matches against Nooie Lee, Jaison Moore, Gran Akuma and your loss to Erick Stevens.

Brad Attitude: Each match was difficult in its own right because I didn't really get a chance to prepare for any of it. Those two nights were so hectic and everything happened so fast that you had to be ready or else you were going to look stupid. I'm glad I had the opportunity to work each guy and lucky that I came out on top when I did.

Alan Wojcik: You expressed personal reasons about being in last year's event (Google search it my reader) and you wanted to use the JPC to show Florida fans who you were and you felt you needed to prove something to yourself. Do you feel that goal was accomplished?

Brad Attitude: Yes, I feel I proved almost everything I wanted to last year other than winning the entire thing. The Peterson Cup, and fighting cancer in general, both mean so much to me that I always take this very seriously. I believe that nobody thought I was going to do what I did last year and I'm going to continue the hot streak I've been on since last year's tournament.

Alan Wojcik: Since your release from WWE you have carved yourself a niche in Full Impact Pro. Talk about working for the promotion and your thoughts on the expanding talent roster.

Brad Attitude: FIP is one of the best in the country, bar none. It's ran by honest, top notch, classy people and with its relationship with ROH, and now Dragon Gate, you can tell why it's held in such high regard. I'm very proud that they gave me an opportunity after the WWE and I took it and ran with it!

Alan Wojcik: 2009 is going real well for you in FIP capped by winning the Heritage championship from Rhett Titus and his co-horts in Heartbreak Enterprises. Some will say you won fair but having the legendary "Outlaw" Ron Bass in your corner didn't hurt either.

Brad Attitude: That was pretty cool I must say. Having the "Cowboy" in my corner to even out the odds was sweet. They deserved everything they got that night and if Mr. Bass needs my help at the Peterson Cup to make sure its even in his Bullrope Match then I will be happy to lend my services.

Alan Wojcik: This year's event features FIP competitors along with stars from CZW, AAW and Hybrid Pro. What do you know about the other promotions and how do you prepare for talent from these promotions besides seeing them online or on DVD?

Brad Attutide: There's really no way to prepare for a tournament like this. All of the promotions are successful in their own right and that's why this tournament is probably the toughest it has ever been. The Peterson Cup always feature the best wrestlers in the country, but now four of the best promotions are being represented so there's an extra sense of pride involved. Even though I'm familiar with a couple of guys, for the most part its going to be surprises around every turn. All I know is that myself, TJ, Chris, and even Davey will be bringing our "A" game that weekend and be ready to make an IMPACT!

» 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: Drake Younger

"Psycho Shooter" Drake Younger
Height: 5 Ft 9 In
Weight: 210 Lbs
Hometown: Indianapolis, IA
Pro Debut: 2002
Website/Myspace/Facebook: www.DrakeYounger.com or www.myspace.com/drakeyounger
Tournament History: 2009 WXW 16 Carat Tournament (lost to Singo in the finals), Winner 2008 Ted Petty Invitational, Winner 2007 CZW Tournament of Death VI.
Where you have seen him: Combat Zone Wrestling, Insanity Pro, IWA-MS, Heartland Wrestling Association, IWA-Deep South, WXW (Germany), Chikara, Insane Championship Wrestling, Absolute Intense Wrestling, IWA East Coast, VIP Wrestling.
Championship held: Current CZW World Heavyweight champion, Insanity Pro World champion, 2x CZW Underground Ultraviolent champion, Insanity Pro Jr. Heavyweight champion, 1st ever IWA Death Match champion, FUCK World Superfight champion.

Alan Wojcik: All sixteen men involved will be asked this question: what were your feelings when you were told you're going to be part of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup?

Drake Younger: I felt glad to be asked to participate in such a ditinguished tournament. JPC has always been a great event for the wrestlers to give it their all and honor the memory of Jeff Peterson.

Alan Wojcik: Your Myspace lists you being a member of the R.A.A.G.E Dojo. Could you please elaborate and how did you come to be trained by American Kickboxer & Ian Rotten?

Drake Younger: Kickboxer was brought into IPW in Indianapolis in 2002 to help train the young guys that were around the promotion. We quickly got a very good hands-on education in Wrestling as KB took us around the country and treated us like children of his own. He then took us down to Louisville to further our training with Ian which led us to IWA Mid-South.

Alan Wojcik: It also lists being part of seminars run by 2007 JPC winner Chris Hero, Low-Ki, 2 Cold Scorpio and KENTA. Could you tell us something you took away from each person's event that helped you in and out of the ring.

Drake Younger: The great thing about this business is that you never quit learning. You are always trying to evolve and learn new things. Getting to spend a few hours with these men at seminars and at shows is something very valuable that I needed and appreciated very much. One thing I definitely learned and took away is that "less is more".

Alan Wojcik: You are one of the few wrestlers who have worked for IWA Mid-South and CZW. If possible can you compare the way the promotions operated (IWA MS folded last month.)

Drake Younger: The current state of CZW is a very good one. With a united locker room, new management, and production, CZW is definitely rockin'. IWA was very good to me and I will always appreciate the things I did in that promotion. I hope they start back up again someday. I think a few bad business decisions might have contributed to the down fall of IWA.

Alan Wojcik: Your website lists you working for a German based promotion called Westside Xtreme Wrestling. How did you come to work for them and talk about the European wrestling experience.

Drake Younger: The wXw office contacted me in 2007 and it's been a beautiful thing ever since. The atmosphere at wXw shows is simply like no other. It's like a rock concert crowd right up on the ring giving you back everything that you give to them energy wise. A great promotion with a great future.

Alan Wojcik: You have the interesting experience of winning the CZW Tournament of Death. In one evening you won a Tables, Light Tubes & chairs match, a Weedwhacker match and finally a 200 Light Tube Deathmatch. You can address each match or summarize the night for fans that have never seen the TOD in person or on DVD (onsale at www.smartmarkvideo.com).

Drake Younger: It was definitely a rough night at the office to say the least. I'm glad I didn't get the receiving end of the weedwhacker(poor DJ). In the finals, I got a pretty bad cut on my chest pretty early on. It was a bit of a nervewrecking situation. I was able to pull through though and even though I was knocked off of a Ryder Truck onto a gigantic light tube log-cabin on a table, I still took home the trophy.

Alan Wojcik: In addition you have also competed in the dreaded Cage of Death. Which is the worst situation to be in, the Cage of Death or any other death match you have wrestled in your entire career and why?

Drake Younger: Being in the Cage of Death is a great honor and I am proud to have done so on a couple of occasions. Without a doubt, the absolute worst match to be in is the 200 Light Tube match...it's just so many chances to get hurt and so much unpredictibility.

Alan Wojcik: On July 12, 2008 you defeated Nick Gage in a "Tangled Web" Deathmatch to win the CZW World Heavyweight championship. Talk about that night and the honor of winning the championship.

Drake Younger: That was a huge night for me. Nick Gage is the man in CZW. He has been with the company since day 1 and has wrestled at more CZW shows than anyone. It was a very celebratory night. Being the CZW champ is something I take seriously and with pride. It has been a marvelous ride so far.

Alan Wojcik: Time to help you sell some merchandise, talk about the unique shirts and DVD collection I saw on your site. Looks like one is exclusively for your German fans.

Drake Younger: You can get my shirts and other fine attire at myspace.com/Brutalbutchershoppe and at Smartmarkvideo.com Thank you for allowing me the time to do this interview and I am very excited about making my Florida debut and representing CZW at the 2009 JPC...See you there!!
